Where has this week gone?

I can't believe it's already Thursday afternoon! It seems like yesterday was Monday. I don't know where the time goes these days, but there never seems to be enough.

Mom and dad are coming up for a quick visit this weekend, then heading over to Springfield to see Sam. I'm sure they'll have a ball with both kids and will be sad to leave them again. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get the house in order in time and how we're going to paint and do our taxes all on Saturday. I have a feeling the painting might not happen, but we'll see.

The little things

Things are slowing down for a bit, so I will try to blog a few lines.

Have you ever stopped to think about the little things in life? It is usually the little things in life that make it great or derail your whole day! With that in mind, I think about the drive home from church Sunday night. Everything was going great until a little skunk :-) played chicken with the family car. The rest of the trip was, well, can I say "hard to enjoy."

The bad things can mess up your whole day if you let them. Days can turn into weeks, even months. I've started praying daily that God would help me enjoy the little things that are so easily overlooked. Just the other day, Isabella picked up a book and brought it to me. For months I've been trying to get her to sit on my lap, and lately she wants me to put her on my lap to read to her. Sometimes it's only a minute or two, but it's a start.

Last night I got home at 9:55 p.m., and Misty was asleep on the sofa. At just the right time, she rolled over and flipped the TV channel to 27 so I could enjoy one of my favorite sitcoms. This is just one of the many little things she does just for my enjoyment. I can only hope to return the favor.

Monday mornings ... and our girl

This morning's been a bit frustrating. I spent way too much time trying to lay out a table tent card promoting our upcoming Children's Health Fair. It's finally done, printed and being folded (by me). Don't you just love it when your plans for the day get completely derailed? Oh well, at least I feel like I'm making some progress on important projects.

In Isabella news, I got her to say "yes" twice this morning on the way to daycare. Even though it was a small accomplishment, I was very proud of her. Eric was able to snap a good pic of her yesterday with his phone. I'm including it below. Isn't she precious?!? :-)

Welcome to our blog!

I thought it was about time we join the 21st century and start our own blog. I really don't have much to say right now, but thought we should have at least one posting. I'll write more soon.

:-)

Okay, where should I start? Well, it's really slow at work today, but I'm feeling a lot better since I got my prescription filled this morning. I hate taking all of this medication, but it helps me get through the day. I am trying to look at the bright side! God has blessed us with a beautiful day, it's 57 and sunny. So, sunny and feeling so-so to fair -- that's a rarity for me, but something that I hope will increase in 2009.

I was just now texting Misty about Dawt Mill, the place where we had our first kiss together. Talk about a memory. :-) It would be nice to return this summer for a romantic getaway! Maybe we could canoe down the river and camp on a gravel bar. I love camping and all that goes along with it. Just thinking about sharing the great outdoors with my family makes me happy.

Well, I better get back to work for now!!! ttyl
