Life

I realized it's been awhile since I last blogged, so I decided to leave a quick post. Things haven't been the greatest lately for us, but we're hanging in there.

Eric apparently caught a cold of sorts a couple weeks ago. As such, he has been coughing up quite a bit of blood and wheezing a lot. He has to rest often and feels terribly pretty much all the time. Needless to say, this has taken quite a toll on him emotionally, as well as physically. Please continue to pray for his healing and for strength to make it through these tough days.

I managed to catch a 24-hour bug yesterday, but am back to my old self today, thank God. Now, Eric's afraid he might have caught it. I hope that isn't the case, but with his luck ... I also hope Isabella doesn't catch it. We need a break from illness for awhile!

Speaking of Isabella, she's doing great and growing like a weed. I wish her verbal skills were a bit further along, but I'm sure she'll be fine. She definitely loves to talk ... and SCREAM. Eric and I are working at breaking her of that habit and seem to be making progress. This is one phase I'm not fond of! Her tantrums seem to have lessened, too. Maybe watching all those episodes of Supernanny has paid off! :-)

InDesign class

Today, my co-worker Mitch and I are taking an InDesign class in St. Louis, so it's jeans day for me -- yay! Isabella's spending the day with my cousins Lorri and Lisa. They're going to get a workout with her! :-)

Anyway, I better start paying more attention. I'll write more later.

It's Wednesday!

Sorry the title's a bit bland, but I couldn't think of anything else at the moment. I can't believe it's already Wednesday afternoon. It seems like only yesterday I was dragging myself out of bed to start the work week.
Eric and I continue to enjoy parenthood more and more each day. For those of you with infants, hang in there -- it will get much better. For those of you with toddlers, I'm sure you can relate.

Isabella is so funny and keeps us running around and laughing all the time. Just thinking about her makes me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside (again, you parents can relate).

Anyway, below are a couple pics I snapped with my phone last night of her on her daddy's shoulders. She's such a cutie ... and he's not too hard on the eyes either! :-)

Where has this week gone?

I can't believe it's already Thursday afternoon! It seems like yesterday was Monday. I don't know where the time goes these days, but there never seems to be enough.

Mom and dad are coming up for a quick visit this weekend, then heading over to Springfield to see Sam. I'm sure they'll have a ball with both kids and will be sad to leave them again. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get the house in order in time and how we're going to paint and do our taxes all on Saturday. I have a feeling the painting might not happen, but we'll see.

The little things

Things are slowing down for a bit, so I will try to blog a few lines.

Have you ever stopped to think about the little things in life? It is usually the little things in life that make it great or derail your whole day! With that in mind, I think about the drive home from church Sunday night. Everything was going great until a little skunk :-) played chicken with the family car. The rest of the trip was, well, can I say "hard to enjoy."

The bad things can mess up your whole day if you let them. Days can turn into weeks, even months. I've started praying daily that God would help me enjoy the little things that are so easily overlooked. Just the other day, Isabella picked up a book and brought it to me. For months I've been trying to get her to sit on my lap, and lately she wants me to put her on my lap to read to her. Sometimes it's only a minute or two, but it's a start.

Last night I got home at 9:55 p.m., and Misty was asleep on the sofa. At just the right time, she rolled over and flipped the TV channel to 27 so I could enjoy one of my favorite sitcoms. This is just one of the many little things she does just for my enjoyment. I can only hope to return the favor.

Monday mornings ... and our girl

This morning's been a bit frustrating. I spent way too much time trying to lay out a table tent card promoting our upcoming Children's Health Fair. It's finally done, printed and being folded (by me). Don't you just love it when your plans for the day get completely derailed? Oh well, at least I feel like I'm making some progress on important projects.

In Isabella news, I got her to say "yes" twice this morning on the way to daycare. Even though it was a small accomplishment, I was very proud of her. Eric was able to snap a good pic of her yesterday with his phone. I'm including it below. Isn't she precious?!? :-)

Welcome to our blog!

I thought it was about time we join the 21st century and start our own blog. I really don't have much to say right now, but thought we should have at least one posting. I'll write more soon.
